COMMUNITY EVENTS RECAP: JANUARY THROUGH APRIL

One of our favorite parts of building community in Chicago is bringing people together through local events, wellness experiences, neighborhood gatherings, and partnerships with small businesses we genuinely love. Throughout the first few months of 2026, we hosted a series of community-focused events across Chicago designed to connect neighbors, spotlight local businesses, and create meaningful shared experiences.

Here’s a look back at our community events from January through April!

JANUARY

Rest & Restore at Contrast Hot & Cold

We kicked off the year with a wellness-focused reset at Contrast Hot & Cold alongside Ross Sports Chiropractic. This free community event centered around recovery, restoration, and intentional self-care through hot and cold contrast therapy experiences. Designed to help guests recharge physically and mentally, the event brought together movement, wellness, and community in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

FEBRUARY

Move with Coach Steve of EVOTS Performance

In February, we partnered with Coach Steve Richardson of EVOTS Performance and Joey Rosen of Blue Print Home Loans for a community movement event at Optimal Performance.

Guests participated in an energizing session focused on mobility, strength, and overall wellness while connecting with others in the community. Events like these reflect our goal of creating approachable, community-driven experiences centered around health, connection, and local collaboration.

MARCH

St. Patrick’s Day Party at Mrs. Murphy’s Irish Bistro

March brought one of our favorite neighborhood celebrations of the season — a free St. Patrick’s Day community gathering at Mrs. Murphy’s Irish Bistro in North Center. Guests gathered for drinks, conversation, and festive energy while celebrating one of Chicago’s most iconic traditions. The event was all about bringing people together, supporting a beloved local business, and creating space for neighbors and friends to connect before the citywide celebrations kicked off.

APRIL

Soundbath + Acupuncture Healing Experience

To welcome spring, we hosted a free wellness reset in Ravenswood at Backstrom Acupuncture featuring a guided soundbath led by Venus Sabay alongside acupuncture sessions with Dr. Hona Backstrom. The evening focused on relaxation, mindfulness, and restorative healing — offering guests an opportunity to slow down, recharge, and experience holistic wellness in a peaceful community setting.

MAY

Casa Cactus Walk Around Mayfair

In May, we brought the community together for a neighborhood walk around the Mayfair neighborhood featuring one of our favorite places, Casa Cactus. The event highlighted one of Chicago’s welcoming Northwest Side neighborhoods while creating space for neighbors, clients, and local business supporters to connect. Guests explored the area, supported small businesses by shopping at the Plant Shop Chicago after, and spent time gathering with the community in a relaxed spring setting that reflected everything we love about neighborhood-driven events.

Building Community Through Local Events

At Groho Group, our events are designed to feel personal, welcoming, and deeply connected to Chicago’s neighborhoods and small business community. From wellness experiences and movement classes to seasonal gatherings and neighborhood collaborations, every event is rooted in creating genuine connection while supporting the people and places that make Chicago special.

We’re excited for everything still ahead this year and we can’t wait to continue building community together!

A Special Thank You

We’re incredibly grateful to work alongside talented creatives like Mike Goldberg and Jessica Allison, whose photography and videography help capture the energy, people, and moments behind these events. Their ability to document the spirit of Chicago neighborhoods and community gatherings brings these experiences to life long after the event ends, and we’re thankful to continue collaborating with them along the way.
